This project is very close to our hearts, being the third project we have undertaken for our clients. The house in Palm Beach overlooking Pittwater is a weekender that sometimes becomes the mid-weeker too. It’s a very special place for the owners who were ready to spend more time there, hosting friends and their now adult children. It’s a home designed for unwinding, where it’s almost compulsory to retreat to your bedroom for a few hours with a book, or lounge with your feet up on the sofa enjoying the breeze.

The house is surrounded by a beautiful backdrop of towering gum trees, ocean and the peninsula, which evokes a mesmerising sense of calm upon arrival. The interiors are not competing for attention with their environment, but rather they are in harmony with the eucalypts, sky and shimmering water beyond, exuding a quiet, natural charm.
While steering clear of a typical beach house aesthetic, the blues of the ocean are still well and still represented. Natural textured materials such as rattan and sisal are another unifying element throughout the home, as are botanical prints, speaking to the colours of the Australian bush.
